SportingBet Betting App Review

SportingBet, once known as SportingOdds, has forced its way into the reckoning as one of the top players in mobile betting, thanks to its unique and fun betting app – including features such as its famous in-running service – together with a wide variety of betting markets and options.

SportingBet recently made headlines when they claimed to offer the best prices among all UK online betting sites, a claim that actually isn’t so far from the truth from the comparisons we have done. Indeed, with over 2.5 million customers registered to their online sportsbook, there obviously must be some element of truth to their claims. Registration numbers for SportingBet’s mobile app haven’t been released, but with the popularity of their main site it would be fair to say they are also one of the major players in the mobile world as well.

Bonus and Promotions

SportingBet offer a great bonus with up to £50 worth of free bets. Once you open an account and make your first bet (from £10 to £50), SportingBet will instantly match the amount you have placed with a free bet of their own if your first bet fails to win. This basically means your first bet is risk free!

There are two ways in which you can take advantage of this great offer. If you are on your PC use any of the links on their page to register an account then come back and view our download guide to see how to download the SportingBet app. If you are on your mobile simply click the claim your £50 free bet button and register via the app.

Overview, Design and Feel

SportingBet’s app oozes class and appeal. It’s by far and away one of the classiest looking of all mobile betting apps we have seen, driven by a flash aperture that makes for a seamless live betting environment with rich, colorful and graphics that somehow maintains an uncluttered feel.

The interface makes navigation very easy, although it may be necessary to zoom in on the screen if you are using a device with a small screen and you are encumbered with large fingers. Other than that, navigation and coordination are very simple indeed, while scrolling and load speeds are surprisingly fast given the amount of detail on screen.

Features and Interface

If you’re a bettor who loves diversity, then you are going to love this app, no question. The array of sports and bets is truly staggering. The homepage can be a little daunting at first, because this is packed with information and features to choose from, but like many apps it’s fairly simple to use once you get the feel of it. Choose from a drop down list of live, in-play bets, upcoming events (such as horse races, tennis matches, footy games), or else head to the major market listing and work your way from there.

SportingBet offer some great little games in addition to the usual bets – from the football orientated ‘Know the Score to ‘Last Man Standing’ and ‘Betting Points Accumulator’, there are dozens of games which allow you to test your knowledge and skills against other human competitors.

One of the greatest aspects of SportingBet is its in-play coverage, which is about as extensive as it gets. Bettors can access the biggest games of the day directly from the home screen, or else navigate to the in-play area and choose from a wide range of English domestic and European leagues, as well as a few more exotic ones like Brazil and Japan (great for betting at 2 o’clock in the morning!). One particular feature we like is the handy in-play betting slip which can be called up at any time while you’re inside the in-play room – simply hit the small tab and your little notepad pops up, allowing you to keep track of your current bets while considering your next moves.

Sports and Markets

One thing that is noticeable is that SportingBet is quite heavily-orientated towards American sports. In fact, it’s probably the most comprehensive app around in terms of US coverage, making it a great choice for our friends across the Atlantic or anyone else who holds an affinity with them. SportingBet offer the whole gamut of NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB, together with many more, including some college sports.

As for the UK, all the necessities are there, including horse racing, football, greyhounds and others, while additional markets such as the FTSE 100 (a great way to try your hand at ‘virtual investing’) and politics are always fun departures from the usual.

Verdict

It doesn’t matter where you are – down the pub, at work or lying awake in bed – SportingBet allows you to place your bets quickly and easily through its excellent mobile app. Number one app for fans of US sports, its coverage of UK sports is pretty extensive too, and while it may not be the fastest app to navigate (due to the features onscreen), it’s certainly no slouch either.

With an impressive lineup of sports, easy navigation, its range of options for withdrawing and depositing money (including PayPal and credit cards), we’d be failing in our duty to do anything but recommend this mobile app wholeheartedly.
