Premier League Betting Preview – 11th February 2012

February 9, 2012

As we start to get into the business end of the Premier League the race for the title and relegation really start to hot up. Each game can be considered there own cup final with teams scrapping for points.

The tie of the weekend comes in the lunch time kick-off at Old Trafford where bitter rivals Manchester United and Liverpool come head to head. This is one of the oldest and most distinguished rivalries in world football, never mind the English domestic league. After the controversy in the latter part of 2011 between Evra and Suarez, all eyes will surely be on these two players prior to kick off, which brings us nicely into our first betting market. For the pair to shake hands prior to kick off all types of betting sites are offering markets on this, but William Hill lead the field at 6/5 for a situation that both teams have publicly said they will shake hands prior to kick off. Whatever happens, you be assured this will be a spicy encounter for these bitter rivals.

Our next featured game comes from Ewood Park where Blackburn take on Queens Park Rangers. This is already being dubbed a 6 pointer with both teams desperate for points in an attempt to avoid the drop. It’s highly unlikely this game will be classic and a pretty cagey affair with both teams setting their stalls out to first and foremost not concede. so for that reason we are going to take the under on 2.5 goals at 1.90 with Bet365.

Our third pick comes from White Hart Lane where two of the Premier League’s form side’s do battle in Tottenham and Newcastle. Newcastle in particular have surprised most with their efforts this year and find themselves in the dizzy heights of 5th. The return of Demba Ba and new signing Cisse look set to strike a fair amount of fear into what’s a pretty rusty Spurs defence. Having said that, there have been few teams that have played anywhere near the standard of football spurs have this season. It’s for this reason we think there will be goals, and plenty of them. The over on 2.5 goals will be a popular market for this game, but nevertheless we are will to take a chunk at 1.66 with Bet365.

The final game on Sunday see’s the Midlands derby between Wolves and West Brom. Both teams have struggled for consistency this year whilst both have played some reasonable stuff at time. These games are rarely free flowing affairs so we are expecting a pretty cagey game and for this reason like the look of the draw at 3.30 again on bet365. For a little extra from this game we also like the look of Odemwingie for first goalscorer at 7.50.

Good luck this weekend!
