Paddy Power Betting App Review

PaddyPower’s roots lie deep within the Irish betting scene but over the past few years have seen their expansion take on markets from across the UK and Europe. As a result they now run one of the world’s largest betting companies and their introduction of the PaddyPower betting app has been at the forefront of this success.

PaddyPower have totally excelled themselves with their betting app as they have produced on of the best look, most functional and largest mobile betting market selection of any app we have tested. It’s for this reason that we have seen fit to give the PaddyPower betting app a full 5 star rating, something of which we don’t hand out easily on Mobile Betting Guide.

It’s worth noting that accounts signed up directly from the app may not be eligible for this betting promotion. We strongly advise you to register your account via a PC, laptop or mobile browser to ensure you qualify for your free bet.

Overview, design and feel

The first thing you notice about the PaddyPower betting app is the introduction of graphics to their homepage. Many companies have decided to follow a very simple layout and often just concentrating on the text formats of their betting markets. PaddyPower’s app looks ultra slick with a modern and fresh design offering up a really pleasant betting experience.

A host of interactive icons at the top of the page allow you to quickly scroll through the different betting markets they offer. Each has its own symbol with a line of text presenting each sport.

Their website sticks predominantly with their corporate green and white colours and the betting app is no different. It doesn’t feel cluttered at all and navigation around the app is simple and efficient. We would happily go as far as saying that PaddyPower have produced one of the best looking mobile betting apps on the market to date.

Features and interface

The PaddyPower app dives straight into their live betting markets on the homepage which is one of the biggest features of the app. It allows you to see which markets is currently In-Play along with the sport the betting market is attached to. A nice touch is the option to expand or collapse each these markets on the homepage meaning you can get rid of any unwanted clutter in an instant.

As a follow up to their live betting section is the ‘Live bets’ tab found at the very top navigation bar. This basically gives you a much broader view of all the live betting markets currently taking place. From here you can select current live markets or future live betting markets.

For punters who have wagered on a certain horse race, they will be able to access live streams of most races that PaddyPower offer under live betting. To view the race you will need to wager at least £1 and also have a Wi-Fi connection.

Without doubt the underlying feature of the whole app comes in the form of its design. We’ve already mentioned it, but it really is that good. Most companies have been afraid of incorporating images into their betting apps in fear of either overcomplicating them or increasing load times. The PaddyPower app seems to have comfortably overcome these potential difficulties and managed to make their app function and look simply stunning.

A feature that is missing is any interaction with the casino section of PaddyPower. Mobile casino features are starting to become more common in a lot of betting apps, so a connection with this you would have thought, would be a no brinier.

A nice addition is there ‘Top 10 Bets’ which can be found from the app’s homepage. It gives you a list of what markets people are betting on the most and also a view of the best odds from that market. It’s a great way to see an oversight of where the money is heading in regards to the PaddyPower betting portal.

Sports and markets

A good indicator on how well a sites app is kitted out compared to their website is that of the amount of sport and markets it offers. PaddyPower have over 50 betting markets online and we are happy to announce that their app isn’t far behind. All your major sports are there such as cricket, football, motor racing, rugby and tennis, whilst the likes of chess, fishing, netball and squash have been omitted from the app. We can certainly live with that, though!

The majority of markets you will use are listed across the top of the homepage allowing you instant access, whilst the more obscure ones are tidily listed in the ‘A-Z’ section, found at the top of each page.

It’s also a really neat addition to see a few non  sporting markets thrown in there for good measure. Things such as X Factor results, Twitter campaigns and political outcomes can all be wagered on from the PaddyPower app.

Cashier, account and support

A full cahier is available from the PaddyPower app allowing you to deposit and withdraw whilst also having access to betting history and transaction history. This is linked to your whole account, so no matter if you placed a wager via their website or via the app, the information will be tracked and easily viewable.

The account section allows you to edit small parts of the app such as odds in fractional or decimal and also allow you to edit personal information. That’s pretty much all you can do in terms of your account and whilst it’s not a massive amount, it’s enough to keep things flowing.

There’s a more than suitable contacts page which offer you a mobile specific email address  and also a 24/7 phone number to call from Ireland, UK and the Rest of the World.

Navigation and placing a bet

The site navigates like a dream and there are numerous options to both back up from one market and quickly switch to another. As already mention the navigation bar at the top of the screen never leaves you and includes a homepage button, betting markets, live bets, and account and deposit options.

Each betting market is laid out in a simple, yet professional manner offering a host of markets for each specific sport. Once you select the sport and then the sub markets, you can go on to select your bet at the odds you require.

At this point your bet is added to the betting slip which then sits just below the top navigation bar allowing you to easily see how many bets you have selected. Once you have finished choosing your bets simply click on the betting slip and then you are greeted with the odds, stake and potential returns column. The app just continues to deliver in terms of its slick and professional approach to betting.

It’s really tough to find anything wrong with the PaddyPower betting app. It looks the business and quite simply, it works like a dream. With all the graphics on we were somewhat sceptical at first as to load times compared with some of its rivals less aesthetically pleasing apps. But our fears were in vein as we’ve had no lag issues whatsoever.

We like to use our ‘Verdict’ section to be hypercritical off apps picking at some of the smallest faults but there honestly just isn’t anything not to like about the app. PaddyPower have set the benchmark when it comes to mobile betting apps and have proved that with a good chunk of investment, a quality, good looking and practical app can be achieved by all bookmakers. Stunning!
