Champions League Preview – Wednesday 23rd November

November 22, 2011

Group F – Arsenal v Dortmund

Arsenal have finally found their feet this season, both in the premier League and in the European format. They sit top of Group F with a slim 1 point advantage over Marseille. They welcome Dortmund to the Emirates on Wednesday night looking to get revenge for the German sides late equaliser in the opening days fixtures. A win will see Arsenal progress to the knockout stages for a 13th successive season.

Arsenal have certainly picked up form of late with wins over Chelsea, Norwich and Marseille in recent weeks. Dortmund’s form has been lass than impressive in the Champions League picking up just one win and a draw from their four games sitting them precariously close to cut. If they are wanting to progress, all three points against Arsenal looks imperative.

Arsenal should be too strong for their German counterparts and will be looking to get a comfortable win under their belts in the process. Guaranteeing for qualification after the rocky start the Gunners had to their season will be top of the list come Wednesday evening. To bet on this match via your mobile, click here

Group E – Leverkusen v Chelsea

Chelsea have the hardest fixture of any of the English teams in the competition this game week as they look to take on a strong Leverkusen side away from home. Qualification is anything but confirmed for the London based team and they will hoping for a t least a point to give them a shot in the final game week to ensure qualification.

Leverkusen are also not out of the hunt as a win would see them leap frog Chelsea and move into top position with a game to go. Chelsea can seal qualification with a win, but after a hard fought defeat to the hands of Liverpool at the weekend, Chelsea players will need to up their game to the next level for this tough fixture.

A close battle will be had in this game and a draw would be a good result for Chelsea. Anything more would be a bonus!

Group H – AC Milan v Barcelona

without doubt the tie of the week comes in the form of Milan v Barcelona. These two giants of the footballing arena will provide a mouth watering clash as the two battle it out for the top spot in Group H. The winner of the tie will likely go on to secure first place, buts its only a win for Barcelona who can make it mathematically impossible for their rivals to gain it as they currently lead by two points.

Whilst many will fancy Barca to fetch home all three points, the game should be really tight and a draw is the safe bet in this tie!
